Yes, I can be corny too sometimes but I truly stand by this saying. (and no marrying Donald Trump and becoming the next Ivana is not a suitable alternative even though I realise you will be extremely rich and have private jets and gold tap fixtures… Mum said we should be friends)
The kind of wealth you gain from travel is one that has no monetary value. The experiences and memories will stay with you forever. (yes yes I know, a unanimous reaching for buckets was heard the world over) One of my favourite quotes of all time by the wonderful Mark Twain comes to mind:
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime… Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowline, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” -Mark Twain
So what are you still doing here? Oh wait you’re reading my blog… please continue… But I do hope that you are at least considering getting off your extremely attractive tushes (everyone who reads this blog is attractive and fabulous by default) and have an adventure! It doesn’t necessarily need to be trekking Mt Kilimanjaro (although boy would that be fun!) it can be anything from a weekend in the Southern Highlands (wine tasting and antiquing a la my recent trip to that gorgeous slice of heaven in NSW) or finally getting around to that big Europe trip you’ve always wanted to go on. Stop procrastinating, start planning and yes I’ll have another piece of cake!
Lots of love, A
